Pineapple Skin Drinks, yes we’re making a delicious scrap beverage today from you guess it pineapple skin. I don’t normally make scrap recipe but growing up in Jamaica my grandmother never waste pineapple peel. This is one of the most refreshing drinks you will have, so today I decide to let you guys in on one of Jamaica favorite gem. This refresher consists of pineapple peel, ginger, lemon, water and sweetener of choice served over ice.
Pineapple skin drinks or tea was originated from the beautiful Island of Jamaica ‘the land of wood and water’. This drinks helps aid digestion with good source of vitamin C that you can enjoy drinking daily. This recipe is for a cool refreshing drinks however it can serve hot.
Can pineapple skin boil?
Well yes it can be boiled, pineapple skin can use for tea or beverage.
Do you have to peel the pineapple?
Yes we’re only using the skin, Peel and slice your pineapple per usual and store the peel for this recipe.
What ingredients you will need?
Pineapple skin – This is the main ingredients. I use the peel of one whole pineapple
Ginger Root – Fresh ginger just add that extra sweet citrusy flavor
Water – I use 4 cups
Sweetener – I use pineapple ginger syrup and zero calorie sugar (add affiliate links)
Lemon Juice – Use for additional flavor
How to make Pineapple Skin Drinks?
Step 1
Wash pineapple skin thoroughly, then soak in in vinegar water for about half an hour.
Step 2
In a medium sauce pan add freshly grated ginger and water, brig to a boil on medium to high heat.
Step 3
Add wash pineapple skin to boiling water. Turn off heat and let sit on the stove or counter overnight. The next day add sugar and lemon juice to sweeten.

- 1 whole pineapple peel
- 1/4 Cup freshly grated ginger
- 4 Cups water
- 1/2 Cup Zero Calorie Sugar (monk fruit in the raw)
- 1/2 Cup Pineapple Ginger Syrup
- 1 Freshly Squeeze Lemon Juice
